Tip of the Tail is one of the most luxurious villa rentals in the world – but a huge part of why our guests love coming back to our home is the beautiful setting that we’re located in. Turks and Caicos is a small group of islands just south of the Bahamas, and our location makes us one of the warmest, sunniest, and most beautiful islands in all of the Caribbean. It’s no surprise then that every year, Turks and Caicos attracts more and more visitors from around the world.
Over the years, our islands have been welcoming more and more celebrity guests! From actors, to sports stars, to politicians, to influencers – and Tip of the Tail Villa has been one of the top Providenciales villa rentals for these extremely discerning guests!
In this blog post we’ll outline some of the biggest celebrities to visit Turks and Caicos, and also share our thoughts on why we think they love it here so much!
The Kardashian-Jenner Family
One of the biggest groups of celebrities to make a splash on Providenciales is the Kardashian-Jenner family. In February of 2019, Stormi Webster (Kylie Jenner’s new daughter) turned one – so the billionaire cosmetics queen took the family to Turks and Caicos to celebrate. As one of the safest islands in the Caribbean, Turks and Caicos is especially well-versed in managing and accommodating high profile celebrities – with everything from police escorts, to private helicopter transfers, to an increased security presence (to ward off prying eyes and tourist fans who get wind of our celebrity visitors!).
In addition to the safety and security of the island, one must assume that Kylie Jenner and her family are in love with the beaches, blue skies, and warm whether, since it’s not their first time coming to Paradise. Kylie also celebrated her 19thbirthday back in 2017 in Turks and Caicos, and Kim Kardashian has known to frequent the island as well.
The beauty of our islands certainly makes for the ultimate selfie!
Nicki Minaj and Friends
It makes sense that one of Rap’s biggest celebrities would want to visit the Turks and Caicos islands! Providenciales has been the backdrop to several music videos and films featuring some of R&B/Hip Hop’s royalty – including Nicki Minaj. Fans may recall seeing her Instagram and Snapchat stories showing off the beautiful picturesque surroundings of our islands while jet skiing along Long Beach with a group of her best girlfriends.
Our guess is that Nicki and Friends were looking for a low key vacation destination, with the opportunity for ‘high key’ adventure at their disposal! That perfectly describes Turks and Caicos, since our islands tailor to so many different vacation styles; from quiet and romantic to adventurous and electric.
Political Figures and Billionaires
Not all of our celebrity visitors are influencers and Instagram royalty – Provo gets a lot of high profile, high net worth travellers, and some of them are super noteworthy.
Bill Gates and his wife Melinda have been known to frequent the island – and their mission is clear – the best golf in the world. The couple can usually be found at the Provo Golf Club where they can test their handicap and perfect their swing.
Hilary Clinton and Bill Clinton are also frequent residents to Turks and Caicos, and we’re betting that in addition to the beautiful scenery and idyllic weather, they love the feeling of safety and security that Turks and Caicos offers which other Caribbean islands simply cannot.
And while we can’t disclose the celebrity guests who have stayed at Tip of the Tail, a discerning eye can often find glimpses of our iconic day bed, glass-walled pool or our private beach on the Instagrams and Snapchats of some of the world’s biggest celebrities.
But when you’re staying at Tip – it doesn’t matter who you are – we treat all of our guests like an A-lister.
